End of life
A hierarchy that is followed, a downstream route that can be named, and a record that shows which route each asset took.
The hierarchy
Nothing is routed to recycling that could have been reused. This is the single decision that separates asset recovery from scrap collection.
A working server, laptop or switch is worth far more as itself than as material. Assessment comes first, and anything with genuine working life is routed for reuse.
Where the unit cannot be reused, its memory, processors, drives, power supplies, optics and modules often can. Component recovery sits ahead of recycling.
What remains is routed to recycling channels for material recovery, handled under the E-Waste (Management) Rules as they apply to the consignment.
Regulatory context
The E-Waste (Management) Rules place obligations on the organisations that generate e-waste in bulk as well as on those that process it. For a corporate IT estate, the practical obligation is to channel retired equipment through authorised routes and to keep records that show you did.
That second part is where most organisations are exposed. Equipment that left the building without a record cannot be evidenced later, however responsibly it was handled.
Our documentation is built to close that gap: a handover record for what left, a disposition record for where it went, and the downstream route disclosed on request. Where a consignment requires an authorised processor, it is routed through one and the arrangement is disclosed rather than obscured.
What you receive
The closing record states, for each item, whether it was reused, recovered or routed to recycling. Not a percentage — a line per asset.
Ask where the recycling stream went and we will name the channel. We do not publish a partner we cannot show you.
UPS batteries, laptop cells and backup batteries are declared, segregated and routed through the appropriate stream, not mixed into general e-waste.
Documentation is written to be dropped into an audit file, an ESG report or a board pack without translation.
Credentials & authorisations
Intentionally empty. This panel lists only credentials AK Computer holds, with issuer and reference number. It will be populated as documents are issued. Until then, ask us directly and we will state our current position in writing.
Downstream processors
Downstream channels are disclosed to clients on request for the consignment concerned, and will be published here only under a written agreement with the processor. We do not list partners for effect.
